Educational Associate – Special Education

Summary:
With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools’ mission, vision, and core values, the Educational Associate for Special Education assists teachers and supports students with academic, social, motor, behavioral, health, life skills, and other functional tasks. Educational Associates for Special Education work one-on-one and with small groups of students in the areas of instructional reinforcement and student support and learning assistance. Â
Daily Schedule:
9.20 am – 4.05 pm M-F
Days per Year:
170 days/year (all student days)Â
Rate of Pay:
Starting hourly wage of $19.00/hour, pursuant to the Minnesota School Employee’s Association’s Collective Bargaining Agreement

Qualifications Required / Preferred:
 Required:
- Associate’s Degree or at least two years of post-secondary education (a minimum of 60 semester credits), or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment
Preferred:
- Experience working with students
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Strong communication skills
