Days/Year:Â 35Â Â hours/week; 7hours/day

Note: Education Assistants proficient in a second language, American Sign Language, or Braille will earn $.75 above the stated hourly wage when it is a regular requirement for the position.Â
Description:Â We are seeking a dedicated educator to support literacy instruction at the elementary level. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students to enhance reading and writing skills, provide individualized support, and contribute to the overall success of our literacy programs. This role is vital in creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:Â Need to be highly qualified standards as defined by the State of Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of literacy programs and strategies for students, including small group instruction and one-on-one support.
- Provide targeted support for students who need additional help with reading and writing, including phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials, activities, and resources for literacy lessons.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher on individual student performance.
- Support students in developing literacy skills across subjects, fostering strong reading habits and a love of reading.
- Work with students in small groups or one-on-one to reinforce literacy concepts, offering personalized assistance as needed.
- Assist with classroom management during literacy lessons and activities.
- Support the administration of literacy assessments and help track student progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve instructional practices and stay current on literacy trends and best practices.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their academic growth and emotional well-being.
