Position Overview:Â Educational Assistant Level II at Burnsville High School
Hours/Day: 7:15 am – 3:15 pm – May include some nights/weekends
Days/Year: Student Contact DaysÂ
Compensation/benefits: Burnsville Association of Educational AssistantsÂ
Note: Education Assistants proficient in a second language, American Sign Language, or Braille will earn $.75 above the stated hourly wage when it is a regular requirement for the position.Â
Primary Responsibilities:Â
- Assembles materials, supplies, and equipment used in demonstrations, classroom lab experiences, and catering projects; operates and services equipment used in culinary arts food production; assists students and faculty with instructional and caterin activities; and orders, issues, receives and stores classroom materials and supplies. Assists with cleaning, organization, and overall lab management.?
- Specific Duties:
- actively work to keep classroom, lab and storage spaces clean, safe, and organized
- create and maintain accurate inventory records and manage equipment, materials, and supplies
- creates orders and lists for weekly labs
- assist teacher with instructional activities, setting up equipment, and transitioning between lab experiences
- may be asked to assist instructor with small group or individual reteaching
- may be asked to manage program social media accounts
- must be able to lift 25 pounds
- able to drive district vehicle to support student internships and other post-secondary offerings
