Education Assistant/PAES Lab Assistant

Job Purpose: 
Oversee the PAES (Practical Assessment Exploration System) which is located in our Laker Transitions building, and serves the students at Laker Transitions, Detroit Lakes High School and Middle Schools. Evaluate career exploration and work-based learning (WBL) activities for participating students using PAES. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate participating students’ work potential using PAES.

• Make available quarterly PAES reports to case managers and Transition Facilitator for all participating students including, but not limited to: Performance Summary Reports, Workplace Skills Reports, Workplace Skills Goals, Daily Points.

• Make available a PAES narrative Report at the exit of the program for each participating student to school case managers and Transition Facilitator.

• Alert Transition Facilitator of any concerns about student progress and/or truancy.

• Protect the integrity of PAES by ensuring the procedures, standards, and PAES scoring is done according to the PAES procedures for all participating students. Oversee and ensure consistency of assessments and scoring according to PAES procedures for all participating students. 

• Oversee the PAES and Project Discovery consumable supply inventory, ordering supplies as needed, in collaboration with the Transition Facilitator.

• Oversee the inventory and management of PAES equipment, supplies, and job boxes, in collaboration with the Transition Facilitator.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma and/or work experience in the school system as an education assistant

Schedule: 37.5 hrs/wk
