Mid-State Education District in Little Falls, MN, has an ECSE Teaching position.  The ECSE Teacher provides early intervention services for children with special needs within the home, School Readiness/Preschool and Headstart programs.  Mid-State Education District provides high quality staff development to staff, recognizes the value of team work, offers leadership opportunities throughout the district, and employs skilled specialists, including school Psychologists, Autism Specialists, and OT staff to provide additional support for students.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide face-to-face and consultative services to children, ages three through five as outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Screen and evaluate toddlers referred to the program for possible ECSE services.
  • Assist, as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, in making special education placement decisions and the development of an IEP to guide service delivery.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of children over the course of the IEP
  • Prepare and maintain an efficient schedule for delivery of early intervention services.
  • Work cooperatively with special education support personnel, families and other service providers.
  • Provide case management services and assure compliance with special education procedural requirements and due process timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure as an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher by the Minnesota Department of Education or ability to become licensed as a teacher.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan for and facilitate early intervention services for young children and their families, communicate ideas both verbally and in writing, and to maintain positive professional working relationships with parents and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift and carry adaptive equipment, screening and evaluation kits, and other necessary job-related items weighting up to 20 pounds.
