Job Title: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
Location: YME School District, Granite Falls, MN
Employment Type: Full-Time for the 2025-2026 school year

JOB SUMMARY
The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and services to children ages birth-six with developmental delays or disabilities. The teacher will collaborate with families, general education staff, community professionals, and other professionals to design and implement IFSPs and IEPs in accordance with federal and state guidelines. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Instruction:
    • Provide developmentally appropriate instruction based on individual needs in areas such as communication, cognitive, motor, social-emotional, and adaptive skills. 
    • Develop and implement effective IFSPs and IEPs that address each child's unique needs
    • Utilize evidence-based practices and assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction and services as needed. 
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Partner with families to support children's development, including conducting home visits if required.
    • Work collaboratively with related services providers (e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists).
    • Serve as a resource for general education staff, paraprofessionals, and community agencies.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
    • Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and other required documentation for compliance purposes. 
  • Environment and Program Development:
    • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment tailored to meet the needs of young learners with disabilities
    • Facilitate transitions from early childhood programs to kindergarten and other educational settings

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) or ability to obtain one
    • Knowledge of IDEA, Minnesota Special Education rules, and early childhood development
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preferred:
    • ​​​​​​​Experience working with children birth to six years old with disabilities
    • Familiarity with various assistive technologies and intervention strategies
    • Experience working in diverse cultural settings 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may include work in school settings, home visits, and community-based environments. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks associated with early childhood activities. 

SALARY
Salary is based on district guidelines and candidate's experience.
