Work Schedule:  10 hours/week (8:15-12:15 M/W & Friday 8:15-10:15) at the Early Childhood Family Center

Job Summary:   Paraprofessional needed to support Early Childhood Special Education at the Early Childhood Family Center working with students with Speech Language Delay, Developmental Delay, Emotional/Behavior Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, High Needs and other disabilities.  Experience working with young children (birth – age 5) with special needs preferred. In addition, candidate may need to provide support such as toileting.

Requirements: 

In order to work as a Special Education Paraprofessional, you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualified within 10 days of your first day of work. To be considered Highly Qualified, you must have ONE of the following:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree, or

  2. An Associates Degree, or

  3. 60+ credits of post-secondary education, or

  4. A passing score on the ParaPro Exam.

Please be prepared to submit documentation in support of your qualifications. Acceptable documentation includes transcripts from the college/university or a copy of the ParaPro Exam report.

Important Update:
We can offer a strictly limited 10-day grace period to submit the necessary documents or pass the ParaPro Exam. Stillwater Area Public Schools will pay for you to take the ParaPro Test if you take it through the Harmony Learning Center.   However, if you are unable to furnish highly qualified documents or unable to pass the test within the 10-day period, your employment with Stillwater Area Public Schools will be terminated. You are welcome to re-apply once you have passed the test.
