Provide collaborative and interactive feedback to Early Childhood Staff
The Social Emotional/Engagement Coach will focus on skill building for the Pyramid Model and the Classroom Engagement model with teachers and related staff.  The Social Emotional/Engagement coach will rely on observation, feedback  and, goal directed outcomes to coach teachers
and related staff.

Job Summary:

  • Build positive and supportive relationships with coaching participants
  • Use verbal prompts or cues to remind practitioner to use specific strategies
  • Takes notes on implementation of Pyramid/Classroom Engagement Model strategies
  • Schedule, plan, and facilitate focused observations and coaching sessions
  • Provide feedback to instructor based off Classroom Engagement, Pyramid Model, TPOT
  • Provide materials and ideas to support teacher needs
  • Summarize strengths and weakness (supportive and/or corrective feedback)
  • Provide suggestions and support
  • Coach assists practitioner with creating and/or adapting the environment to support the use of the Pyramid Model and Classroom Engagement strategies
  • Prepare and Develop materials to support instructor
  • Will attend monthly High Five (ISD 728 Pyramid Model and Classroom Engagement program) meetings
  • Will meet regularly with the Assistant Early Childhood Manager to discuss coaching responsibilities
  • Will attend any PLC meetings or other Early Childhood meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BS Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education or related field
  • Trained or willingness to complete training as a coach in Pyramid Model/Classroom Engagement Model (TACSEI- Technical Assistance Center on the Social Emotional Intervention)
  • RTI (Response to Intervention)
  • PLC (Professional Learning Communities)
  • Ability to build professional and supportive relationships with classroom staff
  • Experience with Early Childhood Special Education
  • Ability to give supportive and constructive feedback
  • Strong observation skills
  • Ability to ask interpretive and reflective questions
  • Ability to guide staff in goal setting 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
