QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â Â Â Â
- MN licensure in Early Childhood teaching, preferred. Elementary teaching or registered nursing licensure, required.
- Strong public and human relations skills.
- An ability to work well with students, parents and screening staff.
- Experience with the assessment of young children.
- Experience working effectively with culturally and ethnically diverse population.

JOB GOAL:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â To determine developmental needs for young children entering early education based programs, required by the State of MN. Â
Â
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide an assessment of a child’s development; fine and gross motor skills, speech and language, social-emotional and cognitive skills using standardized instruments allowed by the Minnesota Department of Education and provided by the school district.
- Provide an assessment of child’s health; review child and family health history, measure weight and height, conduct vision and hearing screening.Â
- Participate in required screening training. Â
- Document results of assessments/screening and discuss the results with parents during the summary interview.Â
- Determine referral status of child/family to district or community services as needed.Â
- Conduct screening and conduct summary conference with the assistance of an interpreter/Language line, when the preferred language of family is other than English.Â
- Assists with State reporting.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Early Learning Coordinator (or designee).
