Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
One of the following:
-An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or
-Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelors degree, or

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
-Basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics.
-Basic skills in typing and duplicating may be required for some positions.
-Ability to develop good relationships with students and staff.
-Ability to be sensitive to the needs of others.
-Ability to relate to students with warmth, friendliness and understanding.
-Lifting may be required for some Teaching Assistant positions.
-Must be on time to the job every day.

Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:

  • Coordinate the testing process for a variety of standardized tests; inform school staff of testing schedules and procedures; present information to students about the testing process and preparing for the tests; proctor tests; maintain test security; receive and return completed tests.
  • Compile standardized test results for analysis by school staff.
  • Assist licensed staff with the registration process including student scheduling and schedule changes.

·         Respond to a variety of student inquiries relating to registration, scheduling, academic progress  and related issues as appropriate; refer student to a counselor if the student has issues that warrant professional attention.

  • Assist counselors and office staff as needed.
  • Maintain registration, scheduling, testing, grades and related information on computer; generate routine reports for administration as requested.
  • Coordinate tours of the school for prospective students and their parents.
  • Manage teacher work space in newly designed office including maintenance of copiers and printers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay, Benefits and Work Schedule

This is a 10-month position working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the EA negotiated labor agreement. The labor agreement and salary schedule can be found at Labor Agreements – Saint Paul Public Schools (spps.org). The minimum rate of pay for this position is $18.85 per hour.

Transcript – Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of hire.  You must submit official transcripts within 30 days of your start date.  Formal credential evaluation is required for post-secondary education completed outside of the United States.
