Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Due Process Paraprofessional for the South St. Paul Public School District. This is a 9-month, 7 hour per day position (6.5 hours paid), and reports to the Assistant Director of Student Services.  The hourly rate of pay is $20.16 per hour, based on the 2021-23 master agreement between SSP School District #6 and Education Minnesota South St. Paul Educational Support Professionals Local No. 7312 Agreement

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to manage digital and paper files, ensuring compliance with due process paperwork and confidentiality. Responsibilities include updating data systems, coordinating meetings, facilitating record transfers, and supporting administrative tasks within the student services department. Ideal candidates possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with due process procedures.
 
Job Functions:

  • Maintains and organizes digital and paper special education files, including, but not limited to:
    • Filing due process paperwork,
    • Communicating with staff when documentation is missing, 
    • Maintaining confidentiality with records, 
    • Updating data systems (SpEd Forms and Infinite Campus) when changes occur, and
    • Communicating changes to assist with accuracy of data reported
  • Maintains a system to track completion of due process paperwork, including notifying case managers of upcoming timeline due dates
  • Maintains current student lists in each building
  • Coordinates with special education case managers and teams to schedule meetings
  • Assists with special education record requests and transferring information between agencies, following confidentiality and release of information requirements
  • Follows record retention guidelines and policies as set in the district, including transferring files when students move between buildings or districts
  • Coordinates with the student services department administrative assistant to ensure accurate records for students receiving special education services
  • Assists with printing and mailing paperwork home as requested by special education staff
  • Uploads IEP snapshots to Infinite Campus and other systems as determined by the Director of Student Services
  • Reviews transportation forms for students to ensure accuracy and appropriate due process procedures have been followed
  • Provides support with 3rd party billing procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision.
