Job Title: District Communications Intern

Location: Saint Peter Public Schools, Saint Peter, MN

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week

Position Summary: Saint Peter Public Schools is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic District Communications Intern to support our communication efforts. This internship provides a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in educational communications, public relations, and community engagement. The intern will work closely with the district’s communication team to help enhance our messaging, outreach, and overall communication strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and distributing internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and social media content.
  • Support the maintenance and updates of the district’s website and social media platforms.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of communication initiatives and events.
  • Conduct research on best practices in school communications and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with staff to gather stories, testimonials, and updates to share with the community.
  • Assist in organizing and documenting meetings, events, and outreach efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Communications Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Passion for education and community engagement.
