Overview:
Orono Public Schools Community Education is seeking nurturing assistant teachers in the infant room of our Discovery Kids early learning program in Maple Plain. This position offers part-time flexible morning hours in a fun work environment. Full time positions are also available.Â
Job Summary:Â
- Provide support to the teacher in a child care classroom including: attentiveness to children, preparing bottles and feeding children, cleaning classroom and diaper changes.
- Maintain a safe, positive, play and learning environment that meets the physical, educational and social/emotional domains for infants.
- Assist in other classrooms as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Utilize continuing education opportunities, which will maintain and enhance professional responsibilities as well as help you meet continuing education requirements for your position.
- Part-time with flexible morning hours
Qualifications:
- Fun, nurturing and caring. Organized and flexible.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while working as a team with other staff in the room.
- Previous experience within a licensed child care facility preferred.
- Previous experience working with infants desired.
- Education related to early childhood appreciated.
- Eagerness to attend professional development related to understanding infant development.
Compensation
Hourly Wage:Â $15.00-$18.95
