Breckenridge Food Service Director
REPORTS TO: Superintendent Sullivan
WAGE: Based on Experience
Hours: 25-30 a week during the school year less in summer
Breckenridge School District #846 is seeking a Food Service Director for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is responsible for developing quality, nutritional menu options for the school district, preparing the daily food menu as outlined, and ensuring overall performance meets District policies and established nutritional and safety guidelines. The position promotes healthy food options and ensures a successful food program.
Job Duties:

Maintain the requirements of the Minnesota Department of Education, Food Service Authority.

Organize workload to maximize efficiency of daily meals in both facilities and assist with serving of food in those facilities. Ensure that the requirements of food serving established by the MDE School Food Authority are maintained.

Require that the meals that are served in the district meet the requirements of the school district Wellness policy.

Development of menus for Breckenridge Public Schools to meet the federal guidelines of meals and the wellness policy of Breckenridge Public Schools.

Maintain the ordering of food, commodities and rebating for both district facilities from district approved vendors. Assist in cost containment program while maintaining costs and quality of food service program.

Assure the requirements and implementation of a comprehensive HACCP plan is being maintained.

Assure that all programs during the school day and after school programs that serve food, meet al requirement within the federal, state and local policies.Â

Supervision of all staff within the food service facilities while working in collaboration to ensure optimum service to all students and staff. Make recommendations for staffing to the superintendent and school board.

Ensure proper substitution for food service employee absences; serve as a sub when needed.

Maintain a safe orderly work area. Report accidents, concerns and unsafe practices to administration. Have knowledge of Safety Management program.

Active involvement in quality improvement for positive change, with suggestions for improvement. Serve on the Wellness Committee and assume other duties as requested by the superintendent or school board of Breckenridge Public Schools.Â

Implementation and maintenance of new Food Service programs.

Begin some basic nutrition education in the classroom.
