This is an opportunity to engage with community members, families, students, and educators to ensure a culturally relevant and equitable education for American Indian students. This role will also support the important work of the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee.

Director of American Indian Education

The Goodhue County Education District has an immediate part-time (.2 FTE) position opening for the Director of American Indian Education. This is an opportunity to engage with community members, families, students, and educators to ensure a culturally relevant and equitable education for American Indian students. This role will also support the important work of the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in the field of Education, Public Policy, Project Management, Youth Programs, Experience working with American Indian students, families, and communities preferred; 
  • Three to five years of experience working in schools;
  • A systems-thinking approach, with the ability to make connections and align services to better support student engagement and learning;
  • The ability to ignite and support change, to encourage leaders to be open to new approaches to collaboration, time, and resources, with the goal of achieving improved outcomes;
  • A deep understanding of effective community partnerships;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build solid work relationships;
  • Experience coordinating and/or managing programs in an educational, non-profit, or human services setting.

Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the Goodhue County Education District labor agreement.
