Description

Job summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by performing tasks and duties associated with the maintenance and care of district facilities, equipment, and grounds.
 

Responsibilities and tasks include: 

 

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to include dust mopping classrooms and hallway floors, stripping and sealing resilient and hard surface floors, washing windows, walls, lockers. 
  • Vacumn all carpeted areas of the building with Back Pack, upright or space vacuums. Clean and disinfect restrooms, empty trash and recycle bins.
  • Set up and take down equipment, e.g., tables, chairs, band shell, etc.
  • Respond to questions regarding facility usage, watch for vandalism behavior or unauthorized individuals in building.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by appropriate supervisors.

Minimum qualifications include: 

  • High School diploma or GED

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include: 

  • Computer skills, including proper use of email communication
  • Knowledge of all safety precautions applicable to trade.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and materials
  • Caring for and repairing facilities and equipment.
  • Working with the principal and building staff.
  • Responding effectively to student, staff and community needs.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Using problem solving techniques.
  • Demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Maintaining accurate/current records.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Helping, taking instructions, and exchanging information.

 

 

Preferred qualifications include: 

  • Training or experience cleaning and maintaining a commercial facility desired
  • Minnesota State Boiler Specialist license preferred.

 

Salary:  View salary grids on Pages 11 – 13, Section 1. of the Custodial Contract Agreement 
ROP $17.91/hour

Background checks and/or drug screens are conducted upon receiving a conditional offer. 

  • Employees must complete a background check and are responsible for the background fee. A passing background is required.  Criminal convictions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • The District and Department of Transportation (DOT) require passing of drug screenings for positions that require driving applicable district vehicles.
