Custodian Engineer
Rosa Parks Elementary School

Rosa Parks Elementary School has a position available for a full-time, 8-hour per day (7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) Custodian Engineer beginning as soon as possible.  

Summary of Duties: 
General cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and hallways. Assisting in event set-up and tear-downs. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of boilers and HVAC system, plumbing. electrical, mowing, and snow removal.

Qualifications Required:

  1. Understand and carry out both written and oral instructions. 
  2. 2nd Class or higher boiler license or obtained within one year. 
  3. Knowledge of custodial materials, methods, and equipment. 
  4. Knowledge of plumbing systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), electrical systems, and mechanical tools. 
  5. Physical knowledge: stooping, bending, and occasional awkward positions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in high places on ladders or lifts. 
  6. Ability to supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of the building custodial staff.
  7. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, and reasoning/analysis skills.
  8. Use of computer/technology for Time Sheets, E-Mail, Work Requests, and department communications or related tasks as required. 
  9. Excellent communication skills are required. 
  10. Must be willing to be an active and positive team member of the staff to see that the customer’s needs are met. 
  11. Regular and on-time attendance is required. 

Other Information: This position requires daily building seven days a week and to be available for callback 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Pay Rate:
$21.61 – $22.12
