Monday – Friday: Flexible 6-8 hours/day
Responsible to: HS/MS Day Lead Mechanical Engineer, Night Lead, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor and Principals.
Position Purpose:Â Position responsible for building and grounds maintenance and cleanliness which provides a healthy, safe and attractive appearance and environment.
Job Objective: Performs responsible general custodial work in the care and cleaning of school buildings; does related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the night lead custodian.Â
Responsibilities:Â

- Sweeps, vacuums, cleans, mops assigned areas.
- Scrubs and cleans toilets including mirrors, wash basins, urinals, commodes, slop sinks, etc.; fills tissue, towel and soap dispensers.
- Sanitizes and cleans drinking fountains.
- Performs minor repairs; replaces light bulbs, attends to jammed lockers.
- Checks schedule and sets up for athletic, school events, and community events when needed.
- Assists in gymnasium when athletic events are in progress.
- Communicate effectively using telephone, radio, and email in addition to in-person communication.
- Cleans specified area after special events.
- Shovels sidewalks using de-icer when needed.
- Turns off lights, locks doors to rooms.
- Performs building check and locks doors.
- Use Web based work order system to complete tasks. Checkfor teacher generated ones daily. If work is initiated by custodians please create a new work order for that task
- Basic understanding and ability using computers and technology
- Handles basic building repairs and troubleshooting, e.g. plumbing, HVAC, electrical, doors, furniture.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
