JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title: Wolverine Cub Care and Junior Wolverines, Lead Teacher/Coordinator

Hours/Week:   40 hours per week and benefit eligible, 6am – 230pm, 10.5-12 month Work 

Agreement, Starting Pay $19.00/hr

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Wolverine Cub Care and Junior Wolverines programs. These programs involve instruction and the care of children ages 3-12 years of age.  This position will primarily focus on the Wolverine Cub Care, along with coordinating the daily activities for the Junior Wolverines program. Both programs run year round (summer care June-August). The coordinator is responsible for the day to day operations of the certified child care center, and is expected to develop positive relationships with children, staff, and parents within the program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

  • Preferred Associate degree or BS in Education, Child Development, or related field.

  • Possesses/will obtain CPR/First Aid certification

  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and oral communication

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency 

  • Provides a positive child care/school environment.

  • Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.

  • Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Adhere to all program guidelines including but not limited to staffing ratios, behavior, and discipline policies

  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of staff members

  • Train and supervise child care staff

  • Schedule employees to maintain a proper ratio of students and staff

  • Coordinate and develop activities and snack menus for both programs

  • Manage registrations, billing, and attendance for the programs

  • Respond to parent suggestions, concerns and complaints in a timely manner.

  • Attend staff trainings and district trainings

  • Prepare deposits and tax statements

  • Assist in preschool screenings

  • Attend Community Education Advisory Council meetings

  • Other duties as assigned
