Description
Position title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (Substitute)
Qualifications: Holds current state licensure in Minnesota as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant from the Minnesota Department of Health. A valid certificate from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and State Board of Occupational Therapy. Must be able to transport self, instructional materials, assessment kits, equipment or other necessary job-related items.
Reports to: Director of Special Education
Length of annual contract: Hourly as needed.
Salary: As per MSEC Support Staff Handbook.
Basic responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to students with disabilities and indirect services to families and teachers.
- Interpret school based occupational therapy services to families and teachers.
- Keep current with new developments in the field.
- Deliver effective OT services according to frequency and duration listed on IEP, IFSP or IIIP.
- Implement a system of data collection to provide ongoing objective data for decision making.
- Communicate effectively with families and school staff.
- Maintain a good working relationship with families and school staff.
- Participate in the IEP, IFSP or IIIP process through written and oral communication.
- Perform all tasks necessary to collect third party (MA) payment as appropriate.
- Ability to transport self, equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Conduct yourself with a high degree of professionalism.
