Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a licensed educator, on a 260 calendar, responsible for managing and supporting CTE programs across a range of fields including but not limited to Agriculture, Business, Marketing, Information Technology; Family and Consumer Sciences; Hospitality, Human Services, Health Sciences; Trade and Industry; and Work Based Learning. This role is focused on the development, alignment, and expansion of high-quality CTE programming that supports both students and educators. The CTE Coordinator will collaborate with various district offices, to improve and develop curriculum, increase recruitment and retention of staff, and professional development, while promoting participation by underrepresented populations in CTE courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Support:
- Oversee the alignment of CTE content and syllabi across district programs.
- Work closely with the Office of Academics and Office of Equity and Engagement to develop and enhance CTE program offerings and expand pathways.
- Support and coordinate CTE programs, ensuring consistency and best practices district-wide.
- Work collaboratively to increase experiential learning and work-based learning opportunities, including but not limited to job shadowing, field trips, mentorships, internships, and industry recognized certifications..
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Counselor to support Xello implementation and expansion including the Work Based Learning component of Xello.

- Teacher Recruitment and Retention:
- Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and retain highly qualified CTE teachers.
- Assist CTE teachers with meeting licensure requirements..

- Professional Development:
- Participate in professional development, workshops and conferences as necessary.
- Coordinate and deliver professional development opportunities for CTE educators, aligned with developing programs of study and emerging industry standards.
- Ensure ongoing support for teachers through resources, training, and access to grant opportunities including support for new CTE teachers.

- Collaboration and Partnerships:
- Attend district meetings to cultivate interdistrict partnerships.
- Foster partnerships with industry leaders, post-secondary institutions, and advisory committees to ensure the alignment of district programs with post-secondary pathways.
- Work with the Perkins Consortium to prioritize and manage grant-funded resources and activities.

- Program Growth and Equity:
- Lead initiatives to increase enrollment in CTE programs, including underrepresented student populations.
- Develop strategies to reduce barriers to participation and ensure culturally responsive instruction.
- Support career exploration programming, including at the elementary and middle school levels, to prepare students for high school CTE programs.

- Grant Management, Compliance and Funding:
- In collaboration with Director of Postsecondary Readiness, lead the application for and use of funding from the federal Perkins grant,
- Collaborate with various district departments (Finance, Research, and Technology) to ensure accurate data and reporting.
- Assist with the administration of budgets, including district and grant funds, ensuring equitable distribution and adherence to guidelines.
- Attend CTE/Perkins convenings at local, state, and national levels to stay informed on trends, regulations, and funding opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minnesota Teaching License and teaching experience in a CTE field, or certification/licensure in a related field.
- Experience with grant and/or budget management.
- Knowledge of Carl D. Perkins grant and CTE programs of study.
- Experience with curriculum development and instruction, particularly in career and technical education.
- Knowledge of teacher licensing in CTE fields
- Knowledge of College and Career Readiness initiatives within K-12 education.
- Skilled in developing and delivering professional development for adult learners.
- Experience in building partnerships with industry and community based organizations
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel within the district for site visits and meetings.
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods of time and use a computer.
- Some out of district travel is required
