Duty Days Per Year: 171 school days +24 summer school days=195 (NOTE: summer school traditionally has been 12 days in June and 12 days in July, at a location TBD)

Qualifications:
Required qualifications: High school diploma. Must possess good math skills and communication skills (both oral and written). Regular Attendance is an Essential function of the job.
Preferred qualifications: School foodservice cook experience, Production Records, and must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and others while fostering an environment of teamwork with others in kitchen. Attendance is an Essential function of the job. Previous attendance must be excellent. Must be able to take the initiative to insure school meals are meeting requirements and taste great for students.
Duties for cook are, but are not limited to:
- Prepare, cook, and serve food utilizing a variety of kitchen equipment including Combi Ovens, Kettles, Warmers, Slicers, etc.
- Must be able to operate ovens and understand batch cooking and balancing quantities for 6 lunch periods while reducing waste, but never running out of prepared food for student’s meals or entree extras.
- Wash dishes; clean kitchen and organize storeroom, freezer, and cooler areas
- Help receive food deliveries and put items away; must be able to lift 50#
- Maintain daily production records for all lines
- Prepare daily food allergy orders for student(s), production records and troubleshoot any issues regarding meals
- Provide input to Kitchen Manager regarding participation, serving line staffing, menus, inventory, orders, etc.
- Provide positive leadership by example to helper/servers & others in kitchen
- Positively reinforce and contribute to the team environment in the kitchen and cafeteria
- Must be willing and able to perform duties of the longer hour cook in their absence (shift goes 6:00 to 2:00 pm) and possibly the KM.
- Other duties as assigned, including serving food on meal lines, operating POS as needed, dishwasher and monitoring cafeteria
