Description

Hutchinson Public School District is looking for a team player to join us for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond as a Cook Lead in our kitchens.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Production Supervisor and/or the Assistant Production Supervisor at a specific kitchen in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Oversee and train staff to maintain a steady work flow of operations to ensure that all meals are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with standardized recipes and guideline compliance.
  • Ensure food safety standards for preparation, storage, and serving of food are maintained. 
  • Maintain inventory and production records. 
  • Cook and prepare student meals as needed. 

Qualifications: 

  • School food service and culinary experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Food Protection Manager License is preferred but must be obtained once hired 
  • SNA Level 2 certification required and Level 3 certification must be attained in a timely manner.
  • Customer service skills are essential to this position.
  • Ability to work with others as a team is required as teamwork is crucial to the efficiency of the kitchens. 
  • Computer experience is preferred.
