Job: Cook – 4.5 hrs/day at Fridley High School. This is a position that requires onsite work. Remore work is not an option.
Job Summary:
Come join our team of Child Nutrition Professionals who care about serving students healthy menu options. Prepare, produce, and serve as variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry or frozen states according to recipes. Assist team members in other related tasks in designated food service production and/or service areas. This position is responsible for perparing vegetables for the salad bar, washing dishes, daily cleaning tasks, serving students and operating the cashier station. Looking for a positive attitude, attention to detail, willingness to learn new skills, team orientated, and enjoys working with students. Position requires team members to adhere to Minnesota Deaprtment of Education, Minneosta Food Code, and Fridley Public Schools policies.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists in the preparation and service of quality meals for our customers.
2. Prepares fruits and vegetables including washing, weighing and cutting for daily salad bar
3. Assists in the daily set up and clean up of all kitchen equipment and meal serving lines including washing dishes.
4. Serves customers or operates the point of sale system during meal service
5. Ability to work on a team
Qualifications:
1. HS diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to take direction of supervisor.
3. Ability to work cohesively with peers, supervisors, school personnel and students.
4. Ability to demonstrate customer service skills on an ongoing basis.
5. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in performing job duties.
6. Willingness to expand skills
7. Preferred MN Food Managaer Certification or ServSafe certification or obtain ServSafe certification within 1 year.
8. Previous food service experience benefical.
Salary and Schedule -refer to union contract and depends on experience
