Description
The Fitness and Aquatic Center is seeking motivated, positive and energetic individuals to lead group fitness classes. A wide variety of group fitness class formats are offered at the FAC: yoga, strength, core, high intensity cardio, senior and aqua.Â

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Prepare and teaches physiologically sound and safe classes, beginning and ending on time; while motivating participants and being creative.
- Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques.
- Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for participants.
- Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs.
- Ensures that safety standards are met and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Attend group exercise meetings and training sessions.
- Participates in community events.
- Follows all of the ISD 721 policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Required:Â Group Fitness Instructor Certification or Format-Specific Training and Certification which can be obtained upon hire. (i.e: Les Mills Body Pump certification or Silver Sneakers instructor certification)
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing, technique, and rhythm.
- Experience working with and around people of all ages and fitness levels.
- Choreography and music skills.
- Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
- Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
- Passion for fitness.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit and talk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants.
- The employee must have a high degree of energy, be physically fit, and have the endurance to complete the workout.
