Community Education Enrichment Specialist
Lincoln Community Center

 

A position is available as a Community Education Enrichment Specialist at Lincoln Community Center beginning December 2024.  This position is full-time, 12 months a year.

Summary of Duties: 
Plan, develop, deliver, and promote adult and youth programs of Mankato Community Education.  To include, but not limited to: Middle School After-school, Youth Enrichment Classes, Adult Enrichment Classes, Pottery Lab, Rec on the Go, Special Events, and Older Adult Trips. Identifying strategies to serve the underserved, unaware student customer.

Qualifications Required: 
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Excellent customer relations and interpersonal communications skills. Strong written communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment that thinks in the abstract solves problems, and makes decisions together. Evidence of being self-directed and detail-oriented under pressure of a deadline.  Ability to teach a variety of individuals in a non-intimidating class setting; preferably one year of prior teaching experience. Ability to evaluate, coach, and supervise staff. Ability to identify safety issues regarding facilities and programming. Certified in CPR/AED and First Aid, or willing to be certified within the first 6 months.Ability to monitor and work within a budget.

Qualifications Preferred:
Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities would be graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field and paid or volunteer experience in work which has included extensive public engagement and process management across various demographics.  A valid driver’s license required

Other Information: 
The position is an employee of MAPS Community Education Department. This is a Non-affiliate? position, with Category II benefits. Night and weekend hours are required.

Rate of Pay:
$26.00 per hour
