Are you looking for rewarding part time work where you can make a difference in the lives of adults with special needs?

WORK DAY/YEAR:  2 – 3 evenings per week during the school year or as available. Ranging from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

REPORTS TO:  Enrichment Coordinator for the Adults with Exceptional Abilities Program

SALARY:  $15-$19 per hour based on previous experience

LOCATONS:  

  • Northrop Community Education Center
  • All Rochester Public School Buildings

Job Summary:

  • Assists in leading classes for adults with special needs. These can include crafting, cooking, art, trips and other social activities.
  • Ensure the safety of class participants at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with adults with special needs preferred.
  • Ability to maintain focus and enthusiasm while being responsive to participant’s needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, care givers and other staff.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
  • Regular, on-time attendance is required.
