OVERVIEW: Develops and Implements Adult Enrichment and Summer High School Sports Camps Programming

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree required; degree in education, youth development, social sciences, or related field a plus.
  • 1-2 years’ demonstrated experience in program development and implementation and in building community partnerships.? 
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse groups of faculty, students, staff, and community partners and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Flexibility to adapt work schedule to include nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and give clear direction when necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish annual goals and objectives for adult enrichment and summer camp programs.
  • Plan, organize, implement and evaluate adult enrichment activities both within and outside of the school district and community buildings which are 100% fee supported.
  • Utilize needs assessments, research, networking and collaboration to identify and initiate new programs to meet community needs.
  • Review and refine camp processes and procedures annually to ensure efficiency.
  • Provide information on space requirements for classes to the Facility Use Office and update class plans with location assignments.
  • Initiate and maintain partnerships and cooperative relationships within the school district, private and public agencies and organizations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, schedule and evaluate instructors, including independent contractors, who provide instruction for the Adult Enrichment programs and summer camps.
  • Develop and implement appropriate training for instructors.
  • Complete reports on participation and programming, finances, and participant surveys annually and as requested and maintain confidentiality of participant data.
  • Promotes community involvement and foster positive public relations between the department and various communities.
  • Maintain and improve professional competence by engaging with local and national professional organizations and keeping current with professional literature and practices. 
  • Design, monitor and maintain enrichment and camp budgets under the guidelines set by the Community Education Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all expenses, including supplies, clothing orders, equipment and staff costs.
  • Advise department clerks on program registrations, refunds, customer service, course handouts, class rosters and packets, and registration software. 
  • Communicate with coaches and athletic directors to establish accurate dates and locations for camps and consistent processes for setting fees and hiring coaching staff. 
  • Prepare instructor agreements and facilitate instructor payment for course and camp instruction.
  • Assist department staff in proofing program catalog, flyers, and electronic marketing materials. 
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned to support the overall success of the department.

$59,570– 64,554 (2024-25) depending on qualifications
