Summary

The Communications Specialist supports the development and execution of the district’s Enrollment Marketing and Communication plans, focusing on strengthening brand identity, community engagement, and enhancing digital presence through messaging, SEO, and digital marketing.

Description

Hours/Schedule:  20 hours per week. Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour based on experience.
PTO will be provided based on contract days.

Essential Duties:
Assist in planning and implementing Enrollment Marketing and Communication strategies, ensuring consistent NLA branding. Write content for various platforms (newsletters, social media, marketing materials, news releases) to engage the community and boost enrollment. Help create communication materials, including content generation, graphic design, and print coordination. Manage social media campaigns and review content for accuracy. Assist with media relations and preparing communication materials. Provide administrative support to district staff and the Superintendent. Help maintain and update district websites and assist with event photography and video production.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.

  • Proficiency in communication tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, etc.).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective written and oral communication with diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Interest in a school district environment.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in communications, public relations, or within a school district.

  • Knowledge of AP style and various communication platforms (print, web, social media, video).

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to work in a busy, dynamic environment with interruptions.

  • Occasional physical tasks (lifting up to 10 lbs, walking, standing, etc.)

  • Valid driver’s license required for regular travel.
