Student success in academics, fine arts and athletics are reasons students and families come to New Ulm. 

We offer an early learning center for preschool and kindergarten students, including a community education center. This center includes many outdoor and indoor active learning spaces. Jefferson Elementary provides programming for grades 1-4, focusing on small group instruction, responsive classroom, STEM opportunities and core curriculum. We offer a middle school structure and environment for grades 5-8, focused on advisory, exploratory and experiential learning opportunities. Our high school is for grades 9-12, offering college, vocational and work ready courses. We have many opportunities for fine arts and athletics for all students. A Career Technical Education (CTE) Center providing students with opportunities in automotive, welding, manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, construction careers and cabinetry.

Job Summary:                        
This position provides regular curricular instruction in language arts, math, social studies, health, social emotional learning, and science. The successful candidate will carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract, maintains high quality communication and cooperation with stakeholders, and believes that all students can attain high levels of learning. Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development. Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices, and strategies, as well as students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective. Possesses the knowledge and skills to build effective educational experiences that benefit all students. Takes responsibility for the learning of our students and his/her own performance.

Qualifications          
Current MN Elementary Teacher license qualified to teach grades 1-4
