QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
    1.  High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED), required.
- Valid MN driver’s license.
- Technical school certification in trades preferred; equivalent trades experience required.
- Possesses, or has the ability to obtain within 2 years, a MN Dept of Labor 1st Class Boiler License.
- Possesses, or has the ability to obtain within 1 year, a Power Limited license.
- High mechanical aptitude and demonstrated abilities in using, maintaining, and repairing outside maintenance equipment. (Outside Maint. Cert. Tech)
- High mechanical aptitude and demonstrated abilities with the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial mechanical, electrical, HVAC, BAS, and life safety systems. (Inside Maint. Cert. Tech)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with grounds and athletic field maintenance and care and maintenance of landscape plants and trees. (Outside Maint. Cert. Tech.)
- Knowledge and advanced skills related to electrical repair, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and Operations/Maintenance manuals and instructions.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow and enforce safety procedures, practices, and regulations.
- Experience with personal computers and software, and the ability to learn district systems.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force.
- Ability to work outside in extreme conditions.
- Demonstrated customer and human relations skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.

JOB GOALS:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â To maintain the exterior of district facilities, fields, and grounds or physical school facilities in a condition of operating excellence, operating efficiency, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational and recreational use of the facilities may be made at all times.Â

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Lead Inside/Outside Maintenance Technician with maintenance and repairs.
- Responds to requests for maintenance in a timely and professional manner.
- With direction of the Lead Outside Maintenance Technician, performs preventive maintenance and repairs on grounds equipment to correct operating specifications for peak performance. (Outside Maint. Cert. Tech.)
- Responsible for the overall maintenance and condition of all grounds, landscaping, parking lots, and athletic facilities. (Outside Maint. Cert. Tech)
- Ensures fields and grounds are ready for scheduled activities. (Outside Maint. Cert. Tech.)
- With direction of the Head Inside Maintenance Technician, performs preventive maintenance and repairs to all HVAC systems in the district to correct operating specifications for peak performance. (Inside Maint. Cert. Tech.)
- Monitors and operates B.A.S. systems with proper sequencing for maximum energy efficiency. (Inside Maint. Cert. Tech.)
- Assists in non-HVAC repairs such as, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, door hardware, plumbing, and irrigation systems.
- Complies with health and safety codes, to include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
- Submits and completes online work requests in a complete and timely manner.
- Ensures that all equipment is well maintained and ready for use.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
