Description:
Program Instructors provide instruction and training for all ages and abilities of students. They may work at a variety of levels teaching different skills to either individuals or groups. WWe are seeking a vocal director for ISD728 Community Education Summer theatre program of Willy Wonka presenting at Roger High School Performing Arts Center

Job Summary:

  • Work with Artistic Team preparing cast vocally for production
  • Develop repertoire for students at different stages of their development.
  • Maintain clear communication with students, staff, and parents.
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude when interacting with staff, parents, and community members.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in casting for musical, including recruitment and auditions of students
  • Develop and help grow an appreciation and enthusiasm for musical theater in students
  • Develops cast list with production team
  • Responsible for student management
  • Seeks opportunities for student and community engagement
  • Develops effective and efficient rehearsal schedules
  • Works with internal and external partners
  • Responsible for leading small and large group rehearsals
  • Model appropriate behavior and represent the school and district in a positive way.

Qualifications:

  • Available during Theater season June 17th & June 30 – July 20th
  • Must possess subject matter expertise in the instructional area.
  • Must have good organizational skills and demonstrate dependability, promptness, and punctuality.
  • Must be able to manage groups of students in a classroom setting and/or other instructional environment.
  • Must be a team leader and promote team cohesiveness.
  • Must be able to work independently, be enthusiastic, and take initiative.
  • Must demonstrate a professional, positive attitude when working with staff, parents, and community contacts.

Schedule:

  • Three weeks, 18-20 hours per week plus an orientation (Jun 17) 
  • 3 cast productions (Jun 30-Jul 20, 2025)
    Week 1 Coaching Middle school and High school rehearsals for Wonka Jr.
    Week 2 Coaching grades Middle school to performances 7/10 & 11th Wonka Jr. and High school rehearsals for Wonka Jr.
    Week 3 Coaching Elementary School (gr. 3-5) Wonka Kids to Performance 7/19th and grades High school performances 7/18 & 19th Wonka Jr.
