Hours: 6 hours of paid time per day, Monday through Friday school year position
Category I: $18.20 to $22.63 per hour, benefits eligible

Job Summary: 
The Nutrition Services worker assists in preparation and service of food to students in a school setting. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare food according to the planned menu; operate equipment and ovens as needed.
  • Maintain daily records of food production; maintain inventory of food and supplies.
  • Complete daily set-up of school food; provide materials and supplies as needed for the menu items.
  • Service as cashier for student and staff lunches; assist students with technology support for cashier functions; communicate with students regarding balance of funds available.
  • Serve food to students according to menu and guidelines; remind students of meal options; assist students with special needs.
  • Clean all kitchen equipment according to sanitation standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIONAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORME ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS:

  • Knowledge of commercial food service equipment.
  • Ability to maintain records.
  • Ability to operate computer/cash registers. 
  • Able to verbally communicate with co-workers, students, and staff. 
  • Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner. 

RQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • ServSafe certification within the first 6 months of employment.

RQUIRED EDUCATION: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical requirements associated with the position can best be summarized as ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
