Summary:
This position will develop and execute career pathways opportunities to support students in identifying their post-secondary path. Emphasis will be on industries that provide promise for future job demand, sustainable wages, and potential for industry-recognized credentials. In addition this position will supervise work-based learning.
Required Qualifications:

Valid MN Work Based Learning Teaching License

Experience teaching secondary students

Knowledge of Career and Technical Education

Knowledge of post-secondary education options

Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a multidisciplinary team

Awareness of one’s own racial and cultural identities and demonstrated ability to work across differences.

Proven experience creating and maintaining strong relationships working in partnership with diverse stakeholder groups.

Effective interpersonal communication, organization, and technology skills.

Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently and as a member of a team.

Strong project management abilities and a growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with business/educational partnerships

Proven success as a teacher or administrator working in a public K-12 institution, preferably secondary

Experience working in a K-12 education institution

Ability to effectively facilitate small and large groups

Responsibilities:
Career Pathways:
- Collaborate with, and support school counselors to develop, implement and determine course & career planning for students according to district initiatives.
-
Coordinate and supervise work-based learning placements for 622 Online and ALC
-
Maintain best practice knowledge of school career pathway development; serve as a knowledgeable resource for others in the development of career pathway support for students
-
Establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with multiple stakeholders including principals, teaching and learning, CTE teachers, counselors, workforce development experts and employers
-
Develop and facilitate career pathway-related programming such as job fairs, financial literacy events, career expos, experiential and work based learning experiences

Provide annual Career Pathways updates to ISD 622 Advisory

Serve as a liaison to industry representatives to promote partnership opportunities for students,
-
Facilitate Career and Tech Ed Advisory Committees
-
Communicate with students, families, business, and the community
-
Provide post-secondary planning support to students by defining goals, monitoring progress, and creating plans for short and long-term career goal attainment
-
Develop and maintain metrics to measure success and growth of career pathway programs
-
Organize and facilitate career pathway opportunities at Skyview Middle, including career aptitude and interest inventories and career exploration activities
-
Monitor and support students accessing early college credit opportunities in alignment to their career goals
-
Collaborate on the development of recruitment and marketing materials for career pathways programming

Other duties as assigned
