Career and Technical Education  (Teacher on Special Assignment)
Full Time – 2025-26 school year

The Teacher on Special Assignment – Career & Technical Education provides critical support for the district’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs. This role is essential for maintaining program quality, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and securing funding.  The Teacher on Special Assignment – Career & Technical Education plays a key role in supporting program planning, implementing program improvements, and managing data related to CTE courses and student enrollment.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:  
Program Planning & Support:

  • Advisory Boards: Support the planning process for two required CTE Advisory Board Meetings per year for each program area (Agriculture, Work Based Learning, Health Occupations, FCS, Business & Marketing Education, T&I: Transportation, T&I: Manufacturing, T&I: Communications Technology, T&I: Construction). These meetings are crucial for maintaining program approval and securing CTE levy funding.
  • Program of Study (POS) Support:
    • Serve as a member of the Oak Land Perkins Leadership Team.
    • Support the development and implementation of the POS for all five school districts within the consortium (Anoka-Hennepin, St. Francis, Elk River, Cambridge-Isanti, and Princeton).
    • Attend monthly leadership team meetings and provide input into the Perkins grant application.

 Program Approval & Maintenance:

  • Annual Program Amendments: Complete yearly program amendments for each program area as required by MDE to maintain CTE levy funding and Perkins funding. This includes:
    • Adding new teachers to programs
    • Deleting CTE teachers who have left the program
    • Adding new CTE classes
    • Removing inactivated CTE courses
  • Five-Year Full Program Approval: Complete the comprehensive Full Perkins Program Approval every five years. This is a time-intensive process with increasing complexity as determined by MDE.

 Program Documentation:

  • Collect and maintain updated course syllabuses for each CTE course.
  • Provide program codes and course codes for each course.
  • Collect and provide evidence of:
    • Leadership development for each CTE program.
    • Career exploration for each CTE program.
    • Experiential learning for each CTE program.
  • Document safety instruction and assessment procedures for each CTE program.
  • Maintain accurate records of teachers, courses taught, and MDE numbers for each program.
  • Maintain current information for advisory board members for each program area (name, contact info, etc.).

 P-File Support:

  • Support the technology department in ensuring accurate data entry for CTE courses in the P-File system for reporting to MDE.
  • Assist in assigning MCCC file information to CTE courses.
  • Resolve data errors and inconsistencies in P-File uploads related to CTE courses and teacher assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:  Requires MN Teaching License.  Strong understanding of CTE program standards, curriculum development, and instructional best practices.  (Anoka-Hennepin will make every effort to hire teachers with full standard licenses in the assigned subject and grade level.)

Preferred Qualifications:  Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Start Date:  8/25/25.  This position may be filled immediately by an appropriately licensed candidate (PELSB Tier 3 or Tier 4 license).

Rate of Pay:  $50,029 to $104,251. This rate is based on the 24-25 Teacher Working Agreement.  Rate is based on full-time equivalency and verified placement on the salary schedule, with 1.0 FTE being full time. View additional terms and benefits here.
