Salary:  According to the Educational Assistant Work Agreement (Level II)  $16.55

Supervisor of Position:  Douglas Austin, Principal

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; valid MN Driver’s License or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Successful candidate will also be skilled in the following:

  • Oral and written communication.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with school staff, students, and the public.
  • Communicating and enforcing school policies and procedures.
  • Applying judgment when dealing with students
  • Maintaining records and files required of job.
  • Monitoring enforcing and mediating student behavior and safety issues.
  • Performing general clerical and support tasks required in accordance with district and building procedures.

Summary of Duties:

  1. Monitors and Supervises students, hallways and lunches.
    • Supervises students when teacher needs a substitute.
  2. Monitor Hallways during school day.
    • When students do not need supervision due to teacher gone for the period, walk halls to monitor student activity during school day.
  3. Monitors student activities during all lunches.
    • Confer with teachers, staff and/or principals concerning student problems or issues.
  4. Performs other duties of comparable level or type, as required.

Job Description:  Educational Assistant-SFHS Building Monitor

Under the direction of the Principal, the building monitor is responsible for supervising and monitoring students, hallways and lunches.
