QUALIFICATIONS:           1.  High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED), required.
- Valid MN driver’s license.
- Five years’ experience in maintenance of commercial or educational facilities.
- Possesses, or has the ability to obtain within 2 years, a MN Dept of Labor 1st Class Boiler License.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force.
- Computer skills sufficient for comprehensive use of building automation systems, online work request systems, and email communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial mechanical, electrical, HVAC, BAS, and life safety systems.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and Operations and Maintenance manuals and instructions.
- High mechanical aptitude and demonstrated abilities in basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to work outside in extreme conditions.
- Demonstrated customer and human relations skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOALS:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â To maintain the physical school facilities in a condition of operating excellence, operating efficiency, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational use of the facilities may be made at all times.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Lead Custodian to complete preventative maintenance on all building systems to ensure that all systems are operating as designed and to maximum efficiency.
- Maintains generator in peak operating condition at all times. (High School only.)
- Performs building and equipment repair as needed in a timely and professional manner.
- Assists Food Service with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Assists Lead Custodian in resolving daily building security issues.
- Assists Outside Maintenance with snow removal and grounds work.
- Submits and completes online work requests in a complete and timely manner.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
