Building Engineer

Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a Building Engineer at Parkview Center School.This position will be responsible for assigning cleaning areas and directing custodial staff, coordinating cleaning duties and areas ensuring overall building cleanliness, coordinating repairs with district staff or contractors, maintaining building systems, managing and responding to work orders, cleaning, event set ups and other duties. The hours are Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm, however, the candidate should be able to work independently with occasional flexible hours. Desired candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and be organized and able to prioritize the needs of a building. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Moderate computer proficiency and strong communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilites, including but not limited to: 

• Coordinate cleaning areas with staff and ensure overall building cleanliness
• Facilitate repairs with district staff or contractors
• Maintain building systems
• Manage and respond to work orders
• Assist with and coordinate event set ups
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to direct, train/mentor and evaluate custodial staff
• Be a self starter: be able to recognize, analyze, develop solutions and initiate problem solving with little information or direction
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; both written and verbal
• Moderate computer proficiency 
• Chief C boilers license required
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required
• The ability to lift 50 lbs

Compensation: Roseville area schools offers a full benefit package including medical, dental and retirement. The hourly rate for this position is $29.63 per hour. Additional details are available upon request at the District Center or via email to cathy.carter@isd623.org
