Breckenridge LASSO Center Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Superintendent Sullivan

WAGE: $20 – $28/hour

Hours: Flexible

The Site Coordinator is an administrative function for the 21st Century Community Learning Center before and after school program. The Site Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of this federally funded grant program and must adhere to all duties and responsibilities required for grant compliance and student achievement. This position requires flexibility with daily tasks as the work priorities change based on program needs, reporting requirements, and deadlines.

Primary Function

  • This position is intended to recruit people to facilitate activities and programs; coordinate the center schedule and budget; be a champion for the center activities and programs while encouraging innovative ideas to grow the learning and student support opportunities available to students (particularly those in grades 5-12 and those in underserved populations). 

  • Oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the Breckenridge Learning and Student Success Opportunities Center (LASSO) within the district high school media center; implements social programming goals and objectives; and performs a variety of administrative and professional tasks in support of assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates a passion for students and students learning, along with a commitment to the creation of enrichment opportunities for all students.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements the program to meet the stated academic growth in core subject areas to meet the grant objectives and student achievement.

  • Coordinates the implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment as appropriate to the after-school programs and monitors the instructional delivery to targeted students.

  • Evaluates and adjusts program offerings to ensure targeted students’ needs are being achieved.

  • Coordinates family education programs as instructed in the grant. Evaluates parent engagement and makes revisions to ensure needs are being met as well as grant objectives.

  • Evaluates students data to target students for program participation with a focus on students in grades 5-12.

  • Reports (verbally and in writing) to the appropriate administrator(s) on progress and future direction of programming.

  • Maintains records of student’s progress towards accomplishing the steps required through the program’s grant components.

  • Coordinates recruitment and retention of student’s efforts including marketing of programs through website, bulletins, flyers, etc.

  • Works with state and district grant coordinators to ensure programmatic grant compliance requirements are met.

  • Provides coordination and support for summer camps in compliance with grant requirements.

  • Develops community partnerships per grant compliance.

Resource Management

  • Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with grant coordinator and control expenditures against budget.

  • Monitor and report expenditures in adherence with the assigned overall budget.

  • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the LASSO Center, including use of facilities by outside groups.

Skill Development

  • Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for site staff and volunteers.

  • Develop staff skills in program development and implementation, outcome management, fundraising, membership development, and Board development (as required).

  • Consult and collaborate with 21CCLC staff, 21CCLC Advisory Committee, and district administration to ensure program goals are being met.

  • Recruits, monitors, and evaluates employees and volunteers. Works with Human Resources to ensure compliance with district HR policies. Completes HR paperwork in timely fashion and maintains records for grant and program compliance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Secures a healthy and safe environment, overseeing the maintenance of Site facilities, equipment and supplies.

  • Make needed purchases with approval for purchase requests.

  • Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments and/or participate in the implementation of other site activities as necessary.

  • Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.

  • Abide by and support the district’s mission – to provide personalized learning through challenging, relevant and dynamic experiences in a safe environment where mutual respect is fostered and innovative builders of the future are developed.
