Description
Job responsibilities
To manage day-to-day student discipline and behavior management issues for general education students. Provide behavior intervention strategies to students and others as necessary in all on-campus, online school environments, buses, and off-site activities, including but not limited to the following.

Complete all necessary reporting requirements related to discipline, bullying, restrictive procedures, and related state and federal reports.

Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws pertaining to student behavior management and discipline.

Communicate directly with parents, teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, case managers and other parties impacted by the behavior issues.

Participate in behavior interventions and meetings as necessary. ∙ Lead the development of classroom and school-wide behavior management programs such as responsive classroom, PBIS, culturally responsive behavior management, or similar.

Investigate and respond to complaints of bullying or other behavior problems in both the on-campus and online environments.

Provide direct support for classrooms with a higher than normal behavior issues.

Lead the professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators and other staff members related to behavior management techniques and initiatives.

Continually develop and improve policies and handbooks related to student behavior management in collaboration with administrative team.

Develop and maintain school culture in keeping with the school’s mission.

Comply with the Minnesota Code of Ethics for Teachers.
Qualifications

Teacher’s license
-
High degree of integrity and professionalism

Trained in CPI or similar restrictive procedures protocols, or willingness to complete training

Experience with classroom and school-wide behavior management programs such as responsive classroom, PBIS, culturally responsive behavior management or similar.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail, deadlines and legal requirements ∙ Able to manage multiple tasks and relationships

Experienced in online education and instructional technology preferred

Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds
Reports to: Executive Director
Pay: Teacher salary based on CVA compensation plan
