GENERAL INFORMATION:
Position Title:Â Fun & Friends Assistant Supervisor / Float Supervisor
Department/Building: Community Education/Elementary Buildings
Reports to: Child Care CoordinatorÂ
Schedule: Part-time, 12 months, Approximately 5 hours per day on school days, up to 6 hours on non-school days  Â
Compensation: Dependent on experience, starting at $16.63/hr
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Site Supervisors with managing the day to day operation of the program sites including: ensuring the implementation of daily programming; supervising Program Assistants and Volunteers to provide students with a safe, fun, and enriching out-of-school time experience. This role will be primarily based at the Baxter Fun & Friends location, but will assist regulalry (1-2 days a week) at the other locations as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a safe, healthy, clean and inviting environment for children
- Assist students in participating in fire, tornado, and other safety drills as required
- Develop an environment and daily schedule that allows children to assume responsibility for successful peer interactions and choices while meeting the interests and developmental needs of each child
- Participate in monthly professional development meetings
- Submit files, records, documentation, and reports in accordance with program requirements
- Maintain open communication with the Child Care Coordinator and Site Supervisors
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position is regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk up & down stairs while moving throughout the building. Position requires occasional lifting and occasional physical intervention with students. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position will be located in rooms with students and will regularly interact with the Child Care Coordinator, Site Supervisors, district and program staff, public, parents/guardians of participating children, and children participating in programs.This is not intended to be all inclusive, other duties and responsibilities from time to time should be taken and carried out as part of your job duties and description in a positive supportive manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old.Â
- Experience: Prefer at least one year of experience caring for childrenÂ
- Follow policies on confidentiality and mandated reporting
- Ability to mediate, problem solve, and redirect students in a positive way: motivate, support, serve as a positive role model and be energetic, creative, active, and friendly
- Current CPR, First Aid, Concussion Training or ability to obtain and maintain
