Summary
AVID is a college-readiness program that targets students who are “in the academic middle,” but who have potential for higher performance. AVID tutors play an integral role in supporting the students through a rigorous curriculum by serving as role models and mentors, and by taking an active role in developing the academic and personal strength of AVID students. Tutors must be proficient in distance learning technology and be willing to tutor in person. Tutor training in AVID will be provided.聽 聽聽

Required Qualifications:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Excellent communication skills
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Have the ability to work with middle- and high school-aged students
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Be confident working with assignments in a variety of subject areas and at various skill levels
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Serve as a role model and mentor
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Be competent and comfortable working with diverse populations
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Facilitate small student discussion groups
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Be prepared to work collaboratively with AVID teachers, students, and other tutors
