Description: AVID Classroom Tutor: High School and/or Middle School
Multiple positions available.
Hours/days vary.
Casual hourly employee  $15.50 per hour.

Job Summary:

  • Primary responsibility is to work with students in small groups to reinforce skills in reading and math.
  • Work with students in small groups on the process of writing in all subject areas, study skills, and other aspects of college preparation.
  • Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow.
  • Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID coordinator/teacher(s).
  • Attend tutor training.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
  • Ability to work well with students, staff and parents.
  • Excellent observational skills.
  • Good communication skills with students.
  • Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.
