Summary:
Duluth Public Schools is seeking an individual to assist the instructional staff, as well as specialists, in providing for the educational, physical, safety, and general life skills development of special needs students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of a high school diploma of GED and at least three years of experience as an administrator or supervisor for school district transportation functions, including routing experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the work.
- Possession of a valid Minnesota school bus driver endorsement or ability to acquire one within 30 days of hire
- Experience in school bus scheduling and/or maintenance activities
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and equipment associated with a transportation operation
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and statutes governing school busing
- Knowledge of geographical locations and traffic conditions within the city
- Ability to operate radio equipment
- Ability to effectively supervise other employees
- Ability to develop and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with department, district staff and the public
- Ability to manage computerized records as assigned
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Medical/Prescription Drug Plan with Health Reimbursement Arrangement
- Single Coverage – District pays 100% of premium (FREE) + contributes $2,612.50 into HRA annually
- Family Coverage – District pays 75% of premium (25% employee contribution) + contributes $5,225.00 into HRA annually
Dental Plan
- Single Coverage – District pays 100% of Basic premium (FREE)
- Family Coverage – District pays 25% of Premium

- District provides minimum of $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance

Retirement
- The District contributes 7.25% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association) pension plan.
