Minnetonka Middle School West (MMW) is one of two middle schools in the Minnetonka Public Schools.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist the principal in providing leadership in the development of and the fulfillment of the school’s vision, mission, and goals.
  2. Serve as a member of the District’s administrative team and actively participate in the development, implementation, and achievement of District goals
  3. Responsible for working with students on disciplinary issues, entering into counseling relationships, making necessary referrals to other staff members and communicating directly with parents, as appropriate.
  4. Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, staff development, and evaluation of staff members.  
  5. Communicate with parents, community members, and parent organizations concerning school programs and activities.  
  6. Share responsibility for building security for property and persons, including providing supervision of specific areas of the building.  
  7. Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to District goals.  
  8. Serve as the principal’s liaison at school and at professional public meetings in the principal’s absence. 
  9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Qualifications:

  1. Must qualify for or currently have a Minnesota principal license.
  2. Evidence of successful teaching experience, with supervisory or coordinating experience preferred.
  3. Experience working with students in grades 6-8 preferred.
  4. Evidence of an excellent record of past professional performance applicable to performing all duties of the position.
  5. Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including work with faculty and staff, students, parents, and school community.
  6. Evidence of excellent human relations skills demonstrated in a variety of professional settings, including conflict resolution with youth and adults, small and large group facilitation skills, and demonstrated leadership capability.
