POSITION:         Food Service- Assistant Cook /Food Deliverer
LOCATION:       District Wide, primarily Marble
Duration:           Permanent – School Calendar Based

HOURS:    Monday & Thursday 9:30 AM- 1:30 PM, Tuesday & Wednesday 10:30AM- 1:00PM, Friday 11 AM – 1 PM (2 hours per week of food deliverer)
                  **Position will follow the school days calendar
                          
PAY RATE:          $20.95*/19.06*
*Anyone hired after 07/02/92 will be paid under Attachment “B” – see agreement.  (New hires will start at $2.00 less per hour with a $.50 increase for every 6 months worked until they reach the full salary.)
 

General Definition of Work Performs semiskilled work assisting in preparing, cooking and serving meats, breads, vegetables and other food in accordance with the menu, and related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Cook Manager.

Essential Functions The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Participates in preparing, baking and servicing food. Assists in kitchen clean-up and storage of supplies. Washes pots, pans, kettles and other cooking utensils. Operates dishwasher, mixer, chopper, slicer, steamers, ovens and other food service and mechanical equipment. Cleans work surfaces, eating and food preparation area. Sweeps and mops and performs other clean-up duties as assigned. Receives and stocks food supplies. Maintains sanitary conditions. May be assigned to one specific food preparation area or rotated through the full range of food services. Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving meats, breads, vegetables and other foods on a large scale; general knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment; general knowledge of food values and nutrition; general knowledge of U.S.D.A. rules and regulations; skill in the use of standardized recipes and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment; ability to get along well with others; ability to work long hours while standing and under high temperature conditions.

Education and Experience High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; worker is frequently standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and tasting or smelling and occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work requires color perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, playground, classrooom, light traffic)
