Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Learning and Teaching and in collaboration with the American Indian Parent Advisory Council, the American Indian Liaison is responsible for developing and facilitating educational and cultural programs for American Indian students and families. This individual advocates for and supports the needs of these students and acts a bridge between American Indian students, their families, and the school district to enhance communication and collaboration, ultimately promoting the success of American Indian students. Â
Qualifications:Â Previous experience in education and/or working with school-aged youth. Strong knowledge of American Indian history and culture. Strong knowledge of issues pertaining to the educational needs of American Indian youth. Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with students and their families as well as WAPS staff. Previous experience providing professional development or training to individuals regarding American Indian Education and/or history and culture. Knowledge of the community and its resources. Excellent conflict resolutions skills. Intermediate computer skills required.
Hours:Â 15-20 a week
Pay Range:Â $17.73-$23.09 an hour
