After Wave School-Aged Child Care Teacher Assistant

Hours/Pay:
Part time position (2:30-6:30), $15.15 per hour
Department (Building):
Community Education (will be located at New Heights Elementary)

Job Summary:
Provide high quality childcare (after school and on full days specified) for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The program seeks to provide an education recreational environment conducive to learning with a minimum of formal instruction.

Educational Requirement:
Minimum education required – high school diploma or GED
Â
Experience/Certification Requirements:
Required Work Experience in Addition to Education:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Degree in Elementary Education, Physical Education or related field preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Minimum of 18 years of age

Responsible for supervision of the following positions:
Direct supervision of students enrolled in After Wave
Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and administer a variety of diverse developmentally appropriate activities.
- Supervision and safety of program participants.
- Maintain daily communication with parents.
- Prepare and submit monthly attendance reports
- Maintain positive working relations with other School District departments, as needed for program strength.
- Attend in-service training when available to maintain the quality of the program.
- All other duties assigned by the Community Education Director and After Wave Coordinator.
