Adult Basic Education Teaching Assistant – Evening

The ABE Teaching Assistant will provide technical support to an evening ESL class that meets via Google Meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 – 8pm.  The student population includes ESL ADULT learners.  The position can be worked from home or from Lincoln Community Center in Mankato, MN however the applicants must live in the state of Minnesota.  The staff person will be provided with a chromebook and headphones for this position. All work will be done online, remotely via Google Meet and all meetings for this program will be done virtually. 

Summary of Duties:
Duties include taking attendance, assisting students in accessing the technology (google meet, google sites, google docs) and conducting break out room study sessions.  The teaching assistant will need to feel confident and comfortable with the computer and google suite for this position.

Qualifications Required: 
High school diploma or equivalent and strong computer skills including knowledge/application of Google Suite.

Qualifications Preferred:  
It is helpful to speak the Somali or Spanish language in this position, but not required.

Rate of Pay:
$17.00 per hour
