Adult Basic Education Teacher Substitutes
Lincoln Community Center

The Mankato Area Adult Basic Education Program is seeking teacher substitutes for the 2024-2025 school year.  Subs may work in-person, online or HyFlex.  Training is available. ABE subs must hold a license in any area K-12, or have a sub-license or have a Masters in TESOL.

Qualifications Required:

  • Holds a valid Minnesota teaching license in any area K-12 OR holds a Masters degree in TESOL or Linguistics
  • Ability to differentiate instruction according to varied learning styles and educational levels
  • Experience and competency with the use of technology in the classroom (Google Classroom, Google Sites, Google Meets, Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drive) 
  • Experience and/or willingness to learn new teaching modalities:  HyFlex and online learning
  • Knowledge of student-centered learning practices
  • Experience working with students of varied ages, levels, and cultural backgrounds
  • Values diversity and is equity-minded (committed to and believes in MAPS core values)
  • Friendly, professional, and committed to creating a welcoming environment 
  • Experience and commitment to working as a team
  • Must pass background study as required by MN school districts 

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Experience working in Adult Literacy education, teaching English as a Second Language.  
  • Knowledge of and experience with Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) and CCRS standards.

Rate of Pay:
$33.00 per hour
